Earl Holderman, 88 of Stanley, went to be with his loving Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at Our Lady of Victory Hospital. He
was born on Oct. 21, 1921 in Richland County the second child of Bert and
Ethel (Matteson) Holderman.

Earl grew up in the Valton/Cazenovia are of Wisconsin and soon after
graduation from high school was inducted into the army. During World War II
he served with the 12th Armored Division in the European theater of
operations. After his discharge he was employed in Eau Claire as a welder,
and after moving to Stanley, worked at Stanley Machine Works. He was later
employed by Falls Dairy in Stanley.

On June 22, 1947 Earl married Betty Lu Kline at the United Methodist Church
in Stanley. They were happily married for sixty-two years, until Betty preceded
him in death in September of 2009. To this union were born two children,
David Earl and John Allen.

Earl was a founder and charter member of Faith Evangelical Free Church in
Stanley where he skillfully used his talents in maintenance of the building. He
was an avid gardener, enjoyed the out of doors, took great pride in his yard
and shared the produce from his garden with family and friends. Earl had a
deep and quiet faith and his life was a living testimony of it. He was a humble
man who dearly loved his wife, son, and church family.

Earl is survived by his son David of Stanley, a brother, Dale (Elizabeth)
Holderman of Milwaukee, sisters, Alice Martini of Sparta, Velma (Harley)
Coolong of Mount Holly, N.C., a brother in law, Bruce Kline of Bloomington, MN.
and sister in law Jane Felland of Diamond, Missouri. He was the wonderful
adoptive grandfather of Shayla and Sam Gulcynski and Molly Millren all of
Thorp. Earl is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lu (9-5-09), his son John
Allen, his parents and his brother Wilbur.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 1, 2010 at Faith
Evangelical Free Church, Stanley. Rev. Randy Vandeloo will officiate. Burial
will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 until time of service
Friday at the Church. The Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley assisted the family
with arrangements.
