Glenn Bourget, age 91 formerly of Boyd, WI passed away on Tuesday, July
27, 2010 at the Rutledge Home, Chippewa Falls, WI. Glenn was born May
26, 1919 in the Town of Delmar to the late George “Pete” & Nora
(Engelbretson) Bourget. He grew up on the family farm in the Town of
Delmar and attended area rural schools. He then served his country
proudly in the U.S. Army in the European Theatre during WWII. Upon his
discharge he came home to the family farm and continued farming and also
working as a mason, helping build many local schools. In 1948 he was
united in marriage to Kathryn Robertson, residing in the rural Boyd area
raising their family. In his spare time he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and
fishing and spending time at John’s cabin. Glenn is survived by his children,
Judy Sargent of California; Steve (Karen) Keehn of Eau Claire, WI; Barbara
Koppes of Chippewa Falls, WI; George (Marie) Bourget of California; John
(Ruth) Bourget of Boyd, WI; 16 grandchildren & numerous great-
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn in 2007, son,
Ken Lauer, brothers, Howard, Lloyd, LeRoy, & Francis, sisters, Edith Fjosne
& Edna Gerrits, and one granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at
the Plombon Funeral Chapel, Stanley, WI with Fr. Bob Hoekstra officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Boyd, WI. Friends and
family may call on Wednesday evening from 4-8 P.M. at the Plombon
Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to service time on
Thursday.
