Michael Ray Abrahamson age 55, of Stanley, WI passed away
Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, WI
from injuries in a motorcycle/deer accident. Michael was born August
10, 1955 in Arcadia, WI the son of Donald & Patricia (Neprud)
Abrahamson. He grew up in Independence and graduated from High
School there, then attended the Wisconsin Technical College in La
Crosse receiving a degree in Auto Body and owned and operated P
and A Electrical in Strum, with his brother-in-law Junior for many years.
He was in the maintenance field for UW-Stout, Fort McCoy, Wisconsin
Department of Corrections and his latest placement being the
Department of Military Affairs in Chippewa Falls, WI. Mike was involved
in numerous outdoor associations, holding many positions in some
such as the Wisconsin and National Trappers Associations, Stanley
Sportsman Club, and the Chippewa Valley Outdoor Recreation
Association. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving all animals, and was
known to be a master griller. He always had a special place in his heart
for kids and was known as a MacGyver, as he could fix anything! Mike
loved spending his spare time riding motorcycle and traveling. On July
27, 2001 Mike was united in marriage to Dorothy Elrod in Eau Claire,
WI.
Mike is survived by his wife Dorothy of Stanley, WI; daughter, Melissa
Sue of Woodbury, MN; and son, Jonathan Ray of Edina, MN; mother,
Patricia Abrahamson of Whitehall, WI; Step-daughters, Renee (Darin)
Werner of Dallas, TX; Stephanie (David) Larson of Osseo, WI; and
step-son, David Elrod of River Falls, WI; grandsons, Adam & Zachary
Larson, sisters, Debbie (Junior) Prudlick of Strum, WI; and Cindy
(Tom) Cheremy of McFarland, WI; and brothers, Tom Abrahamson of
Eau Claire, WI; and Shane Abrahamson of Whitehall, WI. He was
preceded in death by his father Donald Abrahamson.
Services will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at
Faith Evangelical Free Church, Stanley, WI with Pastor Randy
Vandeloo officiating. Friends and family may call on Monday evening
from 4-8 P.M. at the Plombon Funeral Chapel, Stanley, WI. Memorials
would be appreciated to the Wisconsin Trappers Association.
