Roger W. Hodowanic, age 70 of Gilman, WI, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at Sacred Heart
Hospital, Eau Claire, WI. Roger was born February 29, 1940, in Chippewa Falls, WI, the son of the late
William and Jennie (Palmer) Hodowanic. He graduated from Glenwood City High School and worked for
American Motors in Kenosha for a few years, returning back to the Gilman area, farming, driving truck, and
grading roads for the townships of Aurora and Pershing.
A quiet, loving father, Roger was always there for his children and other family members. His pastime
favorites included fishing and other outdoor activities. He enjoyed playing cards and cribbage, cooking, and
spending time with family.
He was united in marriage to Sylvia Trawicki and was later divorced. Roger is survived by his children,
Veronica (Dennis) Turek of Gilman, WI; Kim (Randy) Sands of Ojibwa, WI; and William (Gina) Hodowanic of
Gilman, WI; plus four grandchildren, Dylan and Cody Hodowanic and Justin and Mitchell Sands.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. at the Gilman Funeral Home with Fr.
Gerard Willger officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John‘s Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Huron, WI.
Friends and family may call from 5-7 p.m. at the Gilman Funeral Home on Friday evening.
