Robert Johnson, age 82 of the town of Jump River
passed away on Friday, November 19, 2010 at his
home. Services will be held on Tuesday,
November 23, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at New Hope
Presbyterian Church, Hannibal, WI. Friends and
family may call on Monday evening from 4-8 P.M.
at the Gilman Funeral Home and one hour prior to
service time at the church Tuesday morning.
Bob was born on November 4, 1928 in Eau Claire
to the late Walter and Bernice (Frederick)
Johnson. The family moved to Jump River in 1936
and he later graduated from Hannibal High. Bob
entered the Navy soon thereafter and while in the
service met Ruth Gutshall. They were united in
marriage on July 25, 1953. After their time in the
service the couple eventually moved to Jump River
in 1955 and purchased their farm. They have
owned and operated the farm since.
Bob was a member of the Jump River Lions and
Volunteer Fire Dept. and also was a longtime
member of New Hope Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Ruth, 3
sons, Gary (Ruth Ann) Johnson of Neenah, Keith
Johnson of Hawkins and Dale (Sheri) Johnson of
Hannibal, one daughter, Debra (Steve) Votta of
Aurora, CO., 5 grandchildren, Tara, Emily, Jack,
Evan and Ben, 3 brothers, Richard (Fern)
Johnson, Ronald (Isabel) Johnson and Harold
(Bonnie) Johnson all of Jump River and one sister,
Barbara Peterson of Eleva.
