Rachel R. Manier, age 91 of Stanley, WI passed
away on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Our Lady
of Victory Hospital, Stanley, WI. Services will be held
on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at
the Stanley Church of The Brethren with Pastor
Ervin Witmer officiating. Burial will follow in the South
Worden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M.
until time of services at the Brethren church.
Plombon Funeral Service is assisting the family with
arrangements.
Rachel was born December 25, 1919 in the Town of
Worden on the family farm, the daughter of the late
Willard & Jenny (Holderman) Henderson. She grew
up in the Town of Worden and attended area rural
schools. On October 8, 1939 she was united in
marriage to Jacob Manier at the Worden Church of
The Brethren. Along with raising her family, Rachel
also worked at the Northern Center in Chippewa
Falls and was a cook in the Stanley-Boyd High
School. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing,
selling Avon products, crocheting, bird watching,
gardening, enjoying her flowers, and camping.
Rachel was treasured and loved by her husband,
children, grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Countless others “adopted” her as their grandma as
well.
Rachel’s faith was an important part of her life. Her
devotion and love for her lord and savior was an
example to all who knew her.
Rachel is survived by her children, Glen (Shirley)
Manier of Abbotsford, WI; Jerry (Terry) Manier and
Dan (Dawn) Manier, both of Stanley, WI; Willard
“Chip” (Amy) Manier of Beaver Dam, WI; 20
grandchildren, several great-grandchildren & 2
great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by her parents, husband Jacob in March of
2010, son Michael and daughter Sharon Olichwier,
siblings, Mae Craker, Keith Henderson, Eunice
Johnson, Joseph Henderson, and Opal Henderson.
