James E. Samplawski, 73 of Stanley, died Sunday, Feb. 19,
2012 at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley. He was born
on May 9, 1938 to the late Clarence and Irene (Ouimet)
Samplawski. Jim was raised in the town of Colburn and later
graduated from Stanley High in 1957. Jim was united in
marriage to Norma Wundrow on Feb. 7, 1959.
He worked for various companies including, the Farmer’s
Store, IKE, Lotz, Stanwood, Wisconsin Bench and McDonald’s.
Jim also farmed in the town of Delmar. He enjoyed Polka
dancing, hunting, fishing and snowmobiling.
Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Norma, four children,
James D. (Deb) Samplawski of Gillette, Wyoming, Allan (Ronda
Goessl) Samplawski of Curtiss, Sanders (Doreen) Samplawski
of Stanley and Ronda (Jeff) Gulich of Holcombe, nine
grandchildren, Heather, Allison, Casey, Christopher, Jacob,
Andy, Dusty, Chloe and Tanner, four great grandchildren,
Keenan, Erica, Evyn and Colten and two sisters, Avis (Joe)
Waichulis of Thorp and Janet Benson of Blooming Prairie, MN.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother in law
Dave Benson.
Funeral services will be at 5 PM on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012 at
Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley. Visitation will be from 2 PM
until time of service.
