Obituary:
Robert “Bob” James Anderson passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 12, 2025 at Dove Healthcare in Bloomer, WI. Bob was born November 9, 1930 to Elmer and Lulu (Kleinschmidt) Anderson of Stanley, WI. He grew up, lived, and loved working on Anderson Hill Farm, his family’s dairy farm near Stanley. He began serving in the WI National Guard during high school. After graduating from Stanley High School in 1949, Bob continued to farm with his family. He enjoyed caring for the animals and took pride in working his family’s land. He represented and served his farming community as a member of the Farm Bureau, Farm Credit Services, and Federal Land Bank. Bob was a member of the Drum and Bugle Corps, performing and marching in area parades. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors with his friends and family.Bob met Lorraine Webster while dancing at Rainbow Gardens in 1951 and they were wed June 14, 1952. The two had a very lively social life, frequently getting together with their lifelong card club friends, square dancing, and traveling. They were active members of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Stanley. Bob and Lorraine took over the family farm and raised their 7 wonderful children there.
Bob and Lorraine moved to Lafayette Township when they retired from farming in 1988. Bob loved to work and kept himself busy holding part time jobs throughout his retirement. Bob and Lorraine became involved members at English Lutheran Church in Bateman. Most importantly, their life remained centered around family. They took great pride and enjoyment spending time with their children and their families. They attended the many sporting events, concerts, and activities of their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bob was always one of their biggest fans as well as a favorite with their friends’ families. Bob enjoyed numerous special traditions with his grandchildren, including hunting and fishing with his grandsons and dancing to Jump Around with his granddaughters at family weddings.
Bob was always kind and very full of life. He could strike up a conversation with anyone in any situation. His joy, great smile, and one-of-a-kind laugh will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his children, Dean (Judy) Anderson of Wittenberg, Steve (Janice) Anderson of Stanley, Pam (David) Atter of Chippewa Falls, Jeff (Brenda) Anderson of Winter, and Julie (Ross) Witt of Whitehall; daughter-in-law Deb Anderson of Fall Creek;19 grandchildren, Dana (Desmond) Dachel, Michelle (Brian) Bornick, Doug (Stephanie) Anderson, Melissa Anderson, Nikki Anderson, Mike (Ashley Schultz) Anderson, Steve (Lindsey) Anderson, Cheri (Brandon) Ricker, Shelly (Kirk) Nelson, Matt Atter, Greg (Ashton) Atter, Kristen (Brian) Bejin, Brianne Anderson (Jordan Lindner), Alysabeth (Zachary) Genteman, Kailyn Anderson, Wesley (Jacquelyn Smith)Witt, Shane (Sarah) Witt, Garrett (Alissa) Witt and Jared Witt; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister, Arlene (Alan) Hoeting of Eau Claire; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lorraine, sons James and Roger, brother and sister-in-law LaMoine and Lucille Anderson, an infant brother, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Tom and Carol Webster, and niece Diane Anderson.
A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church-Stanley with Rev. Kenneth Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9AM until the time of service Saturday at the church. Following the committal; a reception/ Celebration of Life will be held at the Stanley Community Center in Chapman Park. Plombon Funeral Service assisted the family with arrangements.
