Ronald Konsella

Obituary:

Ronald L. Konsella, 87, of Gilman, WI, died on Tuesday, March 10th, 2026 at home, with his family at his side. He was born on August 18th, 1938 at the family home in Hannibal to the late Romey and Marjorie (Shortell) Konsella. Ron grew up in the area, and attended Hannibal High School. On August 13th, 1960, he married the love of his life, Irene Latz, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Jump River. He was a custodian at the Gilman High School for over 20 years.

Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends.

Ron is survived by his wife of 65 years, Irene; their children Lonnie (Bonnie) Konsella of Fall Creek, Cindy (Mark) Smith of Osseo, Melodie (Mark) Sromek of Strum, Shane (Alicia) Konsella of Boise, Idaho, Chad (Michael) Konsella of Jump River, Angel Mesner of Eau Claire, and Brian Mesner of Gilman; his 15 Grandchildren: Amber Ludvigsen, Austin Ahler, Erika Konsella, Jared Konsella, Nicole Konsella, Roman Konsella, Makiah Sausen, Ayla Konsella, Chad Moses Konsella, Braelynn Konsella, Ryan Sromek, Cody Sromek, Alex Sromek, Kyle Sromek, and Taylor Mesner. He is further survived by his 19 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends in his community.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Pat Lemke and Vernice Anderson.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 14th, 2026 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman with Father Joseph Stefancin officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until time of service at the church. A private inurnment will take place at a later date in Mt. Nebo Cemetery.
