Jeanine Setzer

Obituary:

Jeanine F. Setzer, 87 of Boyd, passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at the Chippewa Manor under the care of St. Croix hospice. She was born on April 22,1938 in Chippewa Falls to Bernard and Delphine (Eslinger) Schesel. Jeanine grew up attending Sacred Heart Grade School in Edson and graduated from Stanley High School in 1956.

Jeanine married Allen Setzer on October 3, 1959 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Edson. The couple successfully farmed in the town of Edson until Allen's early passing in December of 1990. Jeanine continued to run the farm along with the help from family, friends and neighbors until she was able to retire in 1998 and moved to Boyd.

She enjoyed bowling, cards, travel, family and friends. She was a very humble servant to God and loved the Church. She loved being social and touched many, many hearts along the way. A truly gentle and non-judgmental soul. To see the woman without a contagious smile was a rare occasion. She will be greatly missed and we are grateful to have been blessed with her presence.

She is survived by her children, Thomas (Linda Lewallen) Setzer and Duane (Lori) Setzer, both of Stanley, Lori Ann Hurth of Chippewa Falls and Randy (Michelle Nelson) Setzer of Boyd, 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and her sister in laws, Judy Schesel of Stanley, and Cathy Setzer of Eau Claire. Jeanine is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Allen, her brother, Donald, Son in law, Richard Hurth, and her grandsons, David and Shaun, and a great grand daughter, Sydney.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 10th at 1pm at St. Joseph's Catholic Church-Boyd with Father William Felix and Deacon Willkom officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday at church with a 10am parish rosary until the time of mass. Plombon Funeral Service assisted the family.
