Darlene Tieman

Obituary:

Darlene A. Tieman, 87, of Eau Claire, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born on October 18, 1938, at the family-run Liazuk’s Cheese Factory in Gilman, where the family lived until moving to Stanley in 1956. Her parents transitioned away from the dairy industry, purchasing and operating Liazuk’s Bar & Café beginning in 1956. They purchased the business from Earl and Pearl Tieman, the parents of Darlene’s soon-to-be husband of 67 years, Dale Tieman. Darlene graduated from Thorp High in 1957.

She married Dale Tieman on June 7, 1958, and moved to Waukesha, WI, to begin their lives together. Darlene worked in the Drafting Department at Husco International, retiring in 2000. Darlene enjoyed painting and drawing, leaving countless hand-painted crafts, pictures, and sketches behind as loving memories for family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening and caring for her family and pets.

She is survived by, and will be dearly missed by, her children, Dwayne (Chris) Tieman and Diana (Jeff) Otto; her grandchildren, Matt (Ashly), Katie (Eric), and Nick (Nicole); her great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Carter, Millie, Maggie, Thomas, and Annalise; and her siblings, Dean Liazuk of Eau Claire, Dale (Sue) Liazuk of Stanley, and Dae (Richard) Jacobson of Stanley. Darlene was reunited in death with her beloved husband, Dale, who preceded her in passing in 2025. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Pearl (Nichols) Liazuk; her sisters, Marilyn Olichwier and Wanda Tramm; and her brother, Duane Liazuk.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Plombon Funeral Home, with Rev. Kenneth Schmidt officiating. Inurnment will follow in Oakland Cemetery-Stanley. Visitation will be from 1 PM until the time of service. Darlene will be remembered for her gentle nature, creativity, devotion to family, and the quiet kindness she shared with everyone around her.
