Obituary:

Dale Edward Tieman was born in Butlerville, Wisconsin, where his family’s legacy is marked by Tieman Road. He was born there on August 17, 1938 to the late Pearl (Paridis) and Earl Tieman, SR. Growing up in a log cabin and later a tavern, Dale’s early years were shaped by hard work and close family ties. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1956, serving at Thule Air Force Base in Greenland and Fairchild AFB in Washington. During leave, he met and married Darlene Ardith Liazuk, beginning a loving partnership that lasted 67 years.

After his service, Dale worked as a machinist and raised his family in southeastern Wisconsin. He and Darlene were devoted parents to Dwayne and Diana, and fostered many children, believing that supporting children was life’s greatest contribution.

Dale faced a long battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, surviving thanks to a pioneering stem cell transplant from his brother Ken. Despite lasting health challenges, he cherished time with family, gardening, woodworking, and caring for birds and nature.

After losing their home to fire, Dale and Darlene moved several times to stay close to loved ones, eventually settling in Eau Claire.

Dale is survived by his wife Darlene, children Dwayne (Chris) Tieman and Diana (Jeff) Otto, grandchildren Matt (Ashley), Katie (Eric), Nick (Nicole), and great-grandchildren Sawyer, Carter, Millie, Maggie, Thomas, and Annalise. He is also remembered by many foster children and the Kucharski family, with whom he shared a special bond. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Earl Jr, John, Loren, Ken, Russ, and sisters, Mona Cunningham, Maxine Lowe and Betty in infancy.

Dale’s legacy is one of resilience, generosity, and unwavering love for family and community.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 16th at 2PM at the Plombon Funeral Home-Stanley with Rev. DR Ralph and Jan McMichael co officiating. Inurnment will follow in Oakland Cemetery with Military rites. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
