Donald H. Lane Obituary

Donald H. Lane, 64, of Stanley, died on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at his residence from natural causes. He was born on May 1, 1962, at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley to the late Fred and Laura (Mock) Lane. Don grew up near Stanley and attended area schools.

Don was always willing to help others. Whether it was giving someone a ride, helping a friend, or fixing a computer, he was someone people could count on. He enjoyed working with computers and was often the family’s go to person when something needed fixing. More importantly, he enjoyed making people laugh and was always ready with a joke or story to brighten someone’s day.

Above all else, Don cherished his family. He loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, and he always lit up when his grandkids were around. Don also enjoyed fishing, and the annual family ice fishing trip was something he looked forward to every year. Family gatherings, time spent together, and making memories with those he loved were what mattered most to him.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy; his children, Leahanna (Kelly) Krizan of Gilman, TJ Lane of Chippewa Falls, Zack (Jerrica) Kempf of Stanley, Fred (Mona) Lane of Stevens Point, and Maggy (Nick) Acker of Stanley; 26 grandchildren; one great-grandson; his sisters, Joyce Slowatyniec of Neenah and Bev (Bill) Abramczak of Thorp; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Carol Giwojna and Patsy Hazuga; and his brothers, Edward, Johnny, Robert, James, and Steven.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley. Burial will follow in Eidsvold Cemetery in the Town of Thorp. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
