Obituary:
Lyle D. Brandt passed away on July 14, 2026 at the Aspirus Hospital-Stanley. Lyle Dean Brandt was born October 10, 1931 to Carl and Bethelva (Gibbs) Brandt. He grew up in the Stanley area where he attended the South Worden grade school and Stanley High School. He also graduated from the Farm Short Course at the University of Wisconsin Madison in 1951. While in high school he enlisted in the local National Guard where he served for 3 years.Lyle married Rose Marie Koutney on June 10, 1961. They farmed until 1990 and continued to live in the area. He enjoyed farming, camping, hunting and especially Canadian fishing trips with his grandchildren.
He was a charter member of a local church serving in various church positions. He was a current member of Heritage Baptist Church. While a member of the Gideon’s he spoke at various churches around the area, passed out Bibles and served as Memorial Bible Chairman. He served on various boards including: Arrowhead Bible Camp, Tri-State Breeders, serving as director for 2 years, the Town of Edson board for 3 years, and the Worden Town board for 18 years. He was a 20 year member of Consolidated Badger Cooperative/Morning Glory.
After retiring he and Rose traveled to Europe and Alaska. They worked at various mission building projects in Mexico and Slovakia as well as several churches in Wisconsin. Trips to Greece and Israel were the highlight of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Bethelva Brandt, his sisters, Anita (Dennis) Mock, and Bonita (Bruce) Kline, and brother Roy. He is survived by his wife Rose, son Dean (Terri), daughters: Dawn (Mark) Snyder and Dora (Charles) Wood. 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.
A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the Plombon Funeral Home-Stanley with Pastor Jared Goebel officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery-Stanley. Visitation will be from 9AM until time of service Saturday morning.
