J. Ronald Romanowski

Obituary:

Ronald Romanowski, 85 of Gilman, died on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at Aspirus Hospital-Stanley. He was born Joseph Ronald Romanowski on May 16, 1941 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley to the late Joseph F. and Dorothy (Linse) Romanowski. He grew up on the family farm and attended area schools. On August 4, 1962 he was united in marriage to Judy Geist. The couple settled on a farm near the Yellow River and has been there since.

He spent his whole life around farming and was very proud of his herd. Ron also enjoyed going to Tractor Pulls, hunting deer and Elk hunting out west, snowmobiling, going to the casino and being with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judy, his sons, Paul (Lisa) of Elk Mound and Peter (Connie) of Genoa, a daughter in law, Barb Romanowski, 5 grandchildren, Dustin (Elle), Brian, Sarah (Darin), Bridgett and Paige, 6 Great Grandchildren, Lilly, Luke, Brantley, Kaysen, Kain and Kyler, and one brother, Larry (Beverly) of Gilman. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Daniel, his grandson, Kevin, his brother, Jim and sister, Evelyn Samplawski.

A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 at 11AM at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church-Gilman. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery-Huron. Visitation will be from 9AM until time of mass on Monday.
